Promotion of Commerce Online in the Digital Era (Pro-CODE) Act

The Pro-CODE bill aims at resolving the deadlock on privacy-enhancing encryption technology that currently hampers US software and hardware manufacturers.

Senators Conrad Burns (R-MT), Leahy (D-VT), and Wyden (D-OR) introduced the bill formally in Congress on 2/27/1997.

How can I help?

A crucial part of the efforts to pass the Pro-CODE bill is grass-roots support. You can be a part of the army of Netizens working to reform the encryption regulations by joining the Adopt Your Legislator campaign, and contacting your member of Congress when they need to hear from you.
